2015 Spring awakens following the winter chills and blues with a young fawn quietly sitting in the meadow with a little owl looking down. The class begins with color washing the canvas, on which the student will then do both surface and traditional stitching. New blades of grass and blossoming flowers along with young trees are stitched with hand dyed threads and silk ribbon. The large tree will be stitched on a separate piece of canvas, then padded and appliquéd to the main forest piece. Dimension is enhanced by the use of padded batik fabric. Creativity is encouraged, as students add their own touches to this stitched forest. Color wash paints and brushes will be available for use in class. This class will give the stitcher all the needed elements to complete the piece at home. INTERMEDIATE LEVEL
