  April Meeting: Saturday, April 4th

Trip to the New Britain Museum of American Art

Here's your chance to see a local gem and some of its collection in the company of our members.  We will have a docent-led tour from 11:30 to 12:30, followed by lunch from their Café on the Park.  You may purchase whatever appeals to you from the menu which features gourmet sandwiches and wraps, savory soups, salads, homemade desserts, and an array of beverages including local favorite Avery's brand soda.  Make sure you register so that we can have a count.

Directions to the museum:

From Interstate 84 East & West:  Take Exit 35 (left exit) onto Rte. 72E.  Follow signs to New Britain and take Columbus Blvd, exit 8.  At the exit light, turn right and proceed to the next light.  Take a right onto West Main Street and take a left before Bank of America onto Lexington Street.  Museum and free parking lot are on the left.

From Interstate 91:  Take Exit 22N, onto Rte. 9.  Follow Rte. 9 to exit 28.  Follow Rte. 72W to Corbin Ave, exit 7.  At exit light, turn right, proceed to next light, and turn right onto West Main Street.  One block after the third light, turn right after Bank of America onto Lexington Street.  Museum and free parking lot are on the left.

Parking:  The NBMAA offers 75 free parking spaces to Museum visitors in the lot directly adjacent to the Chase Family Building.  Parking is also available on Lexington Street and other streets surrounding the Museum, unless otherwise posted.  The Museum has been asked to inform visitors not to park in the lot at the 33 Lexington Street Medical Building; unauthorized vehicles parked there will be towed at the owners' expense.
