Schwalm for Everyday

Diana Snyder

Schwalm for Everyday -- click for an enlarged viewSchwalm techniques break away from the traditional whitework to become a purse. The tulip, bird, or floral heart design may be stitched on natural colored linen for everyday use or on white for more elegant events. The stitches include variations of satin, coral knot, chain, buttonhole, wave, Persian, rose, and herringbone. Ecru or white cotton a broider threads are used.

The student receives sufficient fabric for a 9" x 11" x 2" handbag but the design is equally suitable for a notebook cover or tray insert.

The practice cloth features Seminar 2003's theme "Bee" and may become an inside pocket. An optional finishing service (after stitching is completed) is also available for those wanting someone else to complete the project into a purse.
